Special Delivery

A card came in the mail for me a few days before Mother's Day; as usual I hold all cards until the day of the event. If you don't wait you won't have anything on that special day. This is especially true for Birthday Cards. The rest of my family members rip them open the moment they are sagged from the mailbox!

A few days later, the Friday night before Mother's Day I get a phone call from Austin asking if I have received their Mother's Day card and had I opened it. I informed him that I never open cards until the day of the event; after several pleas he said that I should open it because there was something really funny in there. FINE! Unwillingly I opened the card. I pealed back the flap to reveal the first word of the card and started to scream with excitement! Tessa was there in the room and she came running over and started screaming too!
Sara was on the call by now and I asked Austin if it was really true, and told them how wonderful it was to have a grandbaby coming!

Yes, we are going to be grandparents!! They are a little behind on the grandchild order that I put in on their wedding night, but better late than Never!!

They are due in December around Christmas time! Which will be the best Christmas present ever!

Sacrifice for The Baby Girl

If you have been following the blog you that Big Steve blew his knee and has a third degree separation of his shoulder "teaching" his girl to run the hurtles properly, like a track star!! Well, his teachin' done paid off! She actually set the record last year, then another girl broke it this year. Tessa would not have any of that, so she broke it twice! She broke second one in her last meet this year!

Spring in Cold Spring

I love spring here with all of the flowers that pop up everywhere. We have a little nature trail that is close to the house where all kinds of wonderful flowers live. I don't know the names of all of them but they are very small and delicate!

Sneaking up on Eagles in Minnesota

There is a little park that is north of Rockville, which is only 5 minutes from Cold Spring, there is a park dedicated to eagles, hence the name Eagle Park! I have gone there a few times this spring to get close to the eagles. Right now the trees are just starting to leaf out and the nest is not covered by the foliage so you can get some nice pictures of the eagles. There is a quick little trail around the park with the Sauk River running close by. I hope one day to watch them pluck out a fish from the river when they start to feed their babies.

I think this was Momma
And this was Daddy

There were other little birds trying to decide which house had the best view and the nicest neighbors. They were the Eastern Bluebird and barn swallow. They didn't seem to care that their big neighbors might consider them a light snack!

I could have watched them all day!
